My experience at BHN has been nothing short of exceptional. I began my journey in November of 2018, stepping into the corporate world for the first time. I was hired as a part-time clerk, where I supported day-to-day tasks, contributed to various projects, and assisted with the hiring process for the Community Based Acute Treatment (CBAT) Program.
In 2020, I was offered an opportunity to become a Program Assistant, marking my transition to a full-time position within the Outpatient and Social Justice programs. Here, my understanding of BHN deepened, and I gained valuable insight into the range of services we provide. This role also allowed me to develop and refine the skills I brought to the table. It was during this time that I truly immersed myself in the BHN culture. I had the privilege of witnessing the intricate workings of our organization, observing the dedication of those who keep everything running smoothly.
It felt like I had drawn back the curtain on a grand performance, watching the many talented individuals who make the show possible—and I was excited to play a part in it. In 2023, I transitioned to the Marketing and Development department, where I continue to grow and challenge myself. This move has expanded my skill set and allowed me to contribute in new and impactful ways.
A key factor in my continued growth and commitment to BHN has been the exceptional leadership I’ve received. I will always speak highly of Nilda Rivera and Kathy Mague, who have been instrumental in my journey. Their support, mentorship, and leadership have been more than I could have asked for, and I will forever be grateful for their guidance. I also can’t forget the many amazing co-workers I’ve worked alongside with who have contributed to my journey as well.
The work-life balance at BHN has also been phenomenal, allowing me to not only excel as a full-time employee but also to thrive as a mother, a recent graduate from Westfield State University with a bachelor’s degree in accounting and a minor in Finance, and now as a master’s student in accounting. What I find particularly valuable about BHN is the opportunity for growth and mobility within the organization. I envision my future in the accounting department while continuing to contribute to the community events team, sharing information regarding our services. Feeling proud to work here and being happy is why I chose to stay and grow at BHN.
